"Unlike conventional medical doctors, Dr. Singley is the only health care practitioner who has spent a substantial amount of time with me to discuss my health issues and to formulate a plan to reach my goals."

Acupuncture is a safe and effective holistic medicine backed by more than two thousand years of practice and research. It is used worldwide both as a primary and complimentary treatment for a wide variety of conditions. According to traditional theory, acupuncture regulates the circulation of qi (energy) and blood through the body. Qi flows through meridians the way water flows through a stream. When the normal flow of qi or blood is blocked we experience pain. Creating an opening in the blockage can allow the stream to flow again along its normal path. Likewise, inserting acupuncture needles can restore the normal flow of qi and blood in the meridians in our body. Just as a stream has areas that are either more easily blocked or more easily assessable; meridians have certain points which, when needled, will have a significant impact on the flow of energy.

From a western medicine based perspective acupuncture promotes the release of numerous signaling chemicals such as endorphins and enkephalins. These chemical messengers relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and enhance ones overall sense of well being. Acupuncture needles also, promote muscle relaxation, relieve trigger points, as well as ease anxiety and reduce stress. In this country most people think of acupuncture for pain relief; however, it is also an extremely effective therapy for a digestive problems, constipation, diarrhea, PMS, infertility, menopausal symptoms and many more. Please feel free to inquiry if acupuncture would be beneficial for your specific health concerns.

Most people find their treatments to be extremely calming and relaxing. Often acupuncture is combined with other therapies to further enhance the effectiveness of the treatment. Most people experience noticeable pain relief with the first treatment; a course of several treatments is often needed to achieve maximum benefit.
