Testimonials

"Dr. Lisa is very comforting and listens to the patient and gets to know your whole health story as she is a Naturopathic Physician."

––Marge S.

Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct system of healthcare that has been in existence in this country for over 100 years. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are board certified, licensed physicians trained to diagnose and treat a wide variety of medical conditions. However, instead of using prescription drugs, NDs use natural medicines. NDs specialize in treating chronic illnesses because we are trained to think of the whole person and to look for the underlying cause of the problem.

Naturopathic Medicine has become more main stream because more people are looking outside the scope of conventional medicine for solutions to their healthcare needs. Medical doctors (MDs) specialize in treating acute injuries and illnesses with surgery and prescription drugs. They provide lifesaving services that are an essential part of our health care system. However, when it comes to chronic conditions, this system often falls short. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are ideally suited to bridge the gap between Natural Medicine and Conventional medicine because we are trained to understand both systems. We have extensive training in pharmacology and are the considered to be the foremost experts in holistic and preventative medicine.

Naturopathic Medicine can benefit those who are healthy and want to stay that way as well as those with significant healthcare issues who are trying and address the understand the underlying cause of their illness. Naturopathy is gaining wider acceptance in the medical community. Most naturopathic physicians participate in the major health insurance plans. NDs are trained to work with other healthcare professionals including physical therapists, counselors, chiropractors, and MDs. Ideally we should all be working together so that we can provide the best possible healthcare for our patients.
